Capital Tennis Association
RULES

Players are expected to adhere to the USTA/GLTA Rules and Procedures.

REPORT TIME

Players must report to the Tournament Desk at least 15 minutes prior to their match time.  Once a match is called, the USTA 15-minute default rule will apply. A late player will be defaulted if they have not checked in at the desk ready to play within 15 minutes of their match being called. All players are expected to report to their court immediately upon being assigned a court. It is unfair to your opponent and complicates scheduling if you decide to begin your pre-match rituals (stretching, restroom breaks, yoga, etc.) as your match is being called.

BEHAVIOR

Neither the Capital Classic Tournament Director, nor the Capital Tennis Association will tolerate, condone, or permit any kind of harassment of our members, guests, and/or affiliates, including but not limited to: past, present and/or prospective members of CTA and their families; players, volunteers, and spectators of the Capital Classic, Atlantic Cup, CTA Championships, and/or other GLTA or CTA tournaments; and/or the employees, agents, or representatives of facilities CTA utilizes or with which CTA contracts, on the basis of their sex, color, race, religion, national origin, age, handicap, sexual orientation, and/or gender or sexual identity.

Such harassment may be in violation of federal and/or state/district law.  Harassment may include slurs, abusive language, threats, derogatory comments, unwelcome jokes, teasing, and other such verbal or physical conduct.  Harassment on the basis of sex is violation of Sec. 703 of Title VII.  Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature may constitute assault, battery and/or sexual harassment, including but not limited to when submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual’s participation in any CTA-sanctioned activity, including the Capital Classic.

Violations of this policy may result in sanctions or penalties, issued at the discretion of the tournament director, which may include tournament disqualification, or other penalties, including referral to national, regional, or local authorities.

If you feel that a violation of this policy has occurred, please notify the tournament desk or tournament director immediately. Your concerns will be addressed confidentially to the extent possible.

All tournament participants, by registering for the tournament, acknowledge receipt of this sexual harassment and non-discrimination policy and agree to be bound thereby.

REFUNDS

REFUNDS will be available up until the point where the draws have been created.
