Back to CTA Coronavirus Status Main Page
Tuesday, March 31, 2020
Dear CTA members,I hope this email finds you well and safe. Yesterday, DC, Maryland, and Virginia issued stay-at-home orders for the entire region, effective at least through April 24. In addition, both Rock Creek and Hains Point/East Potomac have announced that they will continue to be closed until further notice, and Fairfax will remain closed through June 10 in compliance with Virginia's order. In light of all this, we are cancelling winter and spring leagues through April 24. Like last time, we will advise impacted players regarding refunds/rescheduling once we've worked out the details with the tennis facilities, but in the meantime, if you are experiencing some sort of hardship please don't hesitate to reach out to us and we will work with you. And as always, we sincerely apologize for the disruptions and inconveniences. Thank you for bearing with us as we navigate these uncertain times.
There are more CTA programming scheduling updates below, but first I want to pause for a minute to say: please continue to heed the warnings and directions from your local officials with regards to this pandemic. Only leave home for essential activities and practice social distancing and thorough hand washing to prevent the spread of the virus. And if you choose to continue to play tennis as your form of outdoor exercise, please do so responsibly so that you don't unwittingly further the transmission of this virus in your communities. We want you to stay as safe and healthy as possible while CTA programming is on hiatus!
Speaking of which, here are those programming updates:
As always, we want to hear from you: if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us anytime. And please continue to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe. We can't wait to see you back on the courts again.
Take care,
Isidro Mariscal
