CTA Coronavirus Status Updates

Tuesday, March 31, 2020

  • Winter and spring league play suspended through Friday, April 24.
    • We will follow up with impacted players shortly regarding rescheduling/refunds.
    • Play will resume as scheduled on Saturday, April 25, unless further cancellations are necessary.
  • Earth Day Volunteer Invitational Tournament (April 18) - POSTPONED - Until further notice.
  • Team DC Night of Champions Dinner (April 18) - POSTPONED - The latest from Team DC is that they are tentatively rescheduling the dinner for July 25.  For the time being, CTA will pause sign-ups for our 50% ticket reimbursement for CTA attendees until Team DC finalizes their plans
  • CTA Spring Social (April 25) - POSTPONED - As previously mentioned, our spring social at the Arlington YMCA is postponed until further notice.
  • In-House Singles Tournament (May 8-10) - POSTPONED - At this time, there is too much uncertainty as to whether any of our tennis venues will be back up and running in time.  Therefore, we are postponing the tournament, and it will be rescheduled for later this year, likely in October.
  • In-House Doubles Tournament (June 5-7) - ON SCHEDULE - We will continue as scheduled for this tournament for the time being.
  • Capital Pride Festival (June 14) - POSTPONED - The Capital Pride Alliance recently announced that all June Pride events, including the festival that we participate in, are postponed until further notice.
  • Summer Leagues - DELAYED - We remain hopeful that we will be able to play our usual wide assortment of summer leagues.  At this time, however, we are pushing back the scheduled start dates for these leagues from May to June instead.  If we're able to move forward with this plan, we will open up registration later this month.  Stay tuned for more updates.
